Hardiness Zones Map |
This map of hardiness zones offers a framework for determining which plants will survive winters in your region. The U.S. Department of Agriculture constructed the map based on the average minimum temperatures in each area. While this zone map does provide a general guide to plant hardiness, soil type, moisture, and drainage, average humidity, and exposure to sun and wind also contribute significantly to a plant's growth, so carefully consider all these factors before choosing your plants. While a plant certainly might survive in zones warmer or colder than recommended, it will produce much less fruit than expected. |
