I was impressed with the plant size, condition and the well developed root system. I followed the directions that accompanied the package and planted them the same day. Despite a couple of frosty days, the plants are doing very well. My area soil pH is generally around 6. I had mixed ammonia sulphate 20-0-0 in the planting holes soil 2 weeks earlier to increase the acidity. I believe that I need to spread some ammonia sulphate every year to maintain the soil pH at under 5 for optimum production. Will it be OK for me to also spread some fertilizer like Triple 16 every year around springtime? Luis in California Response I am glad you like the plants. I believe you did and are doing the right things. and yes you can and should fertilize them every spring though use caution and don't overdo it .
